It’s no secret that I’m totally inspired by vintage style. The 60s – 70s casual vibes have been winning my heart this fall.
The Sephora VIB sale begins this week to the delight of beauty lovers everywhere. Embarrassingly, I earned Rouge status this year which means I have early access to the 20% off sale. Don’t worry, there’s no magical superpowers or unicorn dust you get for being VIB Rouge – the only perk I’ve enjoyed is free 2-day shipping which I’ve utilized ONCE this year.
There are quite a few items on my wish list that I’m currently attempting in vain to narrow down.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lip Set. Seven mini lipsticks in Noble, Halo, Bachelorette, Sexer, Wolvesmouth, Coven, NaYeon plus one full sized Gold Blooded in limited edition white packaging. If this included the coveted Poe, I would be pretty near perfect.
Erborian Bamboo Water Mask. I tried this Korean skincare mask on my hand in store last month and it instantly left my skin looking plump and smooth. I’m so curious to see what it would do to dehydrated winter skin.
Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm. I am all about preventative measures these days, so I’m curious about the claims of collagen support. Regardless, this seems to have a good amount of hydrating and protecting oils to really nourish skin overnight.
Atelier Cologne Necessaire Azur Gift Set. It should be known that I hoard samples of Mandarine Glaciale – the ginger and orange frangrance is a perfect go-to for everyday. This set contains 4 cologne absolue pure perfume travel sprays in Mandarine Glaciale, Sud Magnolia, Figuier Ardent, Cèdre Atlas.
Style With Verb Set. Let’s be honest. The packaging of this set is what drew me in. But for $36 you get to try 3 full size products plus a travel shampoo and conditioner. Besides, these are the types of products I use in my hair everyday, so it’s totally justified. Right?
T3 Twirl Convertible Curling Iron. I’ve long coveted the T3 hair tools. I LOVE that they’ve come out with a convertible curling iron and that you can buy only the barrels that you’ll actually use.
Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Cushy Blusher. I recently went on a Korean beauty bender (thanks, Amazon Prime). The Dinoplatz range is one that I was instantly drawn to. I mean, who knew that Dinosaur makeup is what was missing from my life?
Bésame Lipstick and Matchbook Set. Bésame is quite the leading lady in the retro/pin up world. The packaging is to die for if you’re looking for posh vanity pieces. I love the idea of getting the full sized Lipstick in Red Velvet along with mini samples (in matchstick form!) to give to your besties.
Bésame Boudoir Short Hair Contour Brush. Speaking of the vanity, this contour brush is one of the more unique items in the collection. Inspired by brushes used by Makeup Artists of the 1930’s, this brush is supposed to help you achieve that perfectly chiseled look. Who knew?

What items do you have on your wishlist? Any of the above tickle your fancy?
I got super lucky during my birthday month this year and was able to travel to Los Angeles with one of my dearest friends. We hit all of the cliche’d LA shopping spots, sorta hit the beach and had the best time doing it!
I’m always so sad to say goodbye to October. All of the glorious cooler temps paired with the longer days of summer are hard to bid farewell.
Yesterday, I shared an easy Wes Anderson inspired halloween costume DIY but what’s halloween without a little spook? My favorite character of the creepy variety has to be the Munster Matriarch, Lily. Her glamorous ways captivated me as a child and I always find myself googling clips of old Munsters episodes this time of year.
For the first time this year, I actually thought about Halloween in advance (yay), which means I had time to put together a couple of costume ideas over on the YouTube channel (Bigger YAY).
Nothing says Hipster Halloween quite like a Wes Anderson themed look. For this costume, I chose to combine two of my favorites, Mrs. Fox and Suzy (via Moonrise Kingdom) to create an Anderson tribute of my own.
Heya Loves! I know all my US dolls are packing up and headed out for the long weekend but I wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on a few of my favorite Labor Day Weekend Deals!
Zenni Optical. I LOVE that Zenni is coming out with colorful plastic frames and these new round tortoise shell (style #125525) glasses make me swoon for all things fall. Plus they’re only $8.46 with the 15% off discount this weekend!
The 2 Bandits. My love for these desert loving girlbosses has only grown over time. I always try to snag a piece when they do their 40% off sales.
Gap. I know, I know. But I am OBSESSED with the Gapfit line right now. Particularly the green and leopard tights and since it was all 40% off that amazing Monica Geller sports bra may have come home with me last night. It may be the thing that gets me to workout (or to wear athletic wear in public – but whatevs).
ColourPop Cosmetics. I’ve been dying to try the new matte lip colors, so I’m considering the Labor Day sale they’re having my golden ticket to jump on that train.
Late Summer nights call for quick road trips following the sunset.
I can’t get over this unicorn print dress by Cut from the Same Cloth – I wish I could live in it!
Decided to up my bag game by adding my favorite vintage brooches to this old bag – what do you think? It made me fall in love all over again!
Cue my “Please tell me summer’s almost over” monologue. But seriously, is it? I’m melting…
I hope those of you who love all the sweltering that summer brings are enjoying yourselves. The rest of us are seeing mirages of swimming pools in our living rooms. Please forgive me for going off topic, I do have some summery/beauty goodness to bring you today!
Ladies (and gentleman?), I present you – JULY FAVORITES!
It’s so funny how we evolve over time. Things that once seemed like the best things, people, careers can, over time, dissolve into disinterest and sometimes even disbelief at who we once were. To pull us out of the deep end of this discussion, I’ll use my 14 year old self as an example.
As a young teenager, I was CERTAIN that I would never outgrow my love for western wear. If you can believe it, there was once a time when colored denim wranglers were quite the thing (at least in my tiny Texas town). Can you imagine how one day, a mere year or so later, I found myself wondering how on earth I could have endured being seen in public wearing purple wrap style boot cut pants. Oh tragedy.
I think one of the thrills of style is letting yourself evolve and explore. Trying something new just because it’s fun. It keeps the mundane from becoming boring; it adds a little unexpected into everyday life. Most of all, it keeps you from taking yourself too seriously.
What’s something you’ve done to pull yourself out of a rut? How has your style evolved over time?
